How did you become involved with Create Your Dreams and how has CYD impacted your journey?

As a third-grader, I was one of the first students to join CYD. The people in the organization taught me a lot such as life skills such as discipline, personal etiquette, effective communication and creativity.

During summers we went on college tours, volunteered at the food bank and explored the city. We were taught that hard work pays off.

CYD was and still is a part of my life. In high school, CYD prepared me for college by helping me fill out college applications and offering support with college book stipends. CYD was a great support! All I could do was take everything that CYD had given me and continue to give me as a blessing. My mother used to tell me I would be blessed (she was handicapped and wished to take me more places). However, CYD's contribution to my life made my mother's dreams come true. I am now creating and fulfilling dreams because of CYD's mission and involve- ment in my life.

How did you learn about the MARCH Foundation?

I became more familiar with the MARCH Foundation after attending a Create Your Dreams’ (CYD) graduation ceremo- ny in 2015. I learned that the MARCH Foundation is an organization heavily and actively involved in supporting the educational needs of CYD’s youth.

Upon meeting the MARCH board members in person, and understanding their contributions to CYD, I was exceed- ingly touched. CYD does a lot day-by-day, child-by-child, year-by-year, to encourage underprivileged inner city youth despite their obstacles. The MARCH Foundation's support is paramount in providing the resources to students!

How has the nancial support from the MARCH Foundation via CYD made an impact?

Students are sincerely grateful for the opportunity to receive financial support for books, laptops and other college necessities that many take for granted.

What is your long-term ambition?

My first long-term ambition is to continue to publish children’s books and novels and to be the best entrepreneur and author I can be. At age 31, my first children’s book was published August 2015. The Truth for Pumpkin Candy, a children’s moral story that teaches honesty and integrity.

My 2nd ambition is to launch a new consumer sport products company.

Favorite gadget you cannot live without?

My favorite gadget is my Toshiba laptop. I am able do all of the things I love including writing, researching, formulating documents, connecting with others and more. I cannot see myself without my laptop.

Hobbies, interests?

My hobbies are writing and volunteering. I am passionate/interested in business development and philanthro- py, giving back.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?

“Always start what you finish and never take no for an answer,” Star Lowe’s advice to incoming freshmen.

Favorite quote or phrase?

My favorite phrase Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
